Coppola Claret is one of those everyday wines that is easy to find and attractively priced at about $15. We drink it often by default, when we aren’t in the mood for experimenting. It feels comfortable like sweatpants and slippers on a cold, wintry night.
The wine is a Bordeaux style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. It has a strong fruity nose. We enjoy the velvety smoothness on the palate. The flavor of a fruit medley provides some complexity. The long, dry finish has a hint of vanilla. This Claret pairs really well with good Parmigianino cheese.
